Laminator (Experienced)

1st-3rd Class Rate depending on experience.

Summary:

A laminator will work with equipment and materials to cover, strengthen, and protect paper items both on and off the ship. As a laminator, your responsibilities include the setup of the laminating machine, performing safety checks, and ensuring the proper materials are in place

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proficient in operating laminating machinery
• Excellent knowledge of laminating materials and techniques
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
• Attention to detail and ability to detect defects in laminated materials
• Notifies Supervisor/Lead Person or Quality Assurance Technician of non-conformities.
• Responsible for proper packaging and labeling of work in-process and/or finished product.
• Ensure raw materials have been approved for use.
• Ensure all bench top test and measuring equipment being used are properly calibrated.
• Identification and control of Non-conforming material.
• Set-up and Clean-up machine.
• Work on the ship removing and installing laminate
• Work off the ship at Tecnico shops removing and installing laminate
• Willing to work outside of trade and learn other Habitability skills i.e. wallpaper, ceiling install and metal trim install
• Carpentry skills are a plus

Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years Laminator experience.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass and Newport News.

• Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening
• Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
